For this short period, the movement “Help is near!” firmly entered our lives - President of Tatarstan

With activists of the republican public movement "Help is near!" President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met today. Also, the chairman of the Board of the NIBF "Yardem" Ildar Hazrat Bayazitov took part in the meeting. As you know, the Yardem National Islamic Charitable Fund, with the project "Road of Life," entered the republican public movement "Help is near!"

The meeting was held at the Information Resource Center for Volunteering of the Republic of Tatarstan, which is located in the “Khimikov” Palace of Culture. On the basis of the Center, the work of the headquarters of the Republican movement “Help is Near!” Has been launched: jobs for employees have been organized, the necessary equipment and furniture have been purchased, a call center has been organized, and the site has been established.

Rustam Minnikhanov was informed of the aggregate results of the work of the “Help is near!” Today, almost 247 thousand requests for help have been received from residents of the republic. 181 thousand hot meals were distributed, over 55 thousand food packages were delivered, 2.4 thousand consultations were held. At the moment, there are another 8.4 thousand requests.

The headquarters of the “Help is near!” created in all 45 municipalities of the republic. Local volunteer communities have been actively involved in this work.

Much work is being done by the “Center for Social Rehabilitation and Adaptation”. Since 2018, the organization has been providing assistance to needy citizens: it distributes hot meals, clothes, and provides overnight accommodation. Only in May 2020, together with the DUM RT under the auspices of the movement "Help is near!" 25.5 thousand food packages were distributed for a total of 5.8 million rubles. It was also possible to provide a shelter with a supply of products that will allow hot food to feed 1,000 people a day for the next 2 months.

Support is also provided through legal assistance. Specialists of the Tatarstan branch of the "Association of Lawyers of Russia" received over 500 different appeals from citizens. The questions come of a very different nature: refunds for vacation packages and airline tickets, clarification of the adopted regulatory legal acts, labor relations. A separate hotline is dedicated to the business community. To date, 137 complaints have been received. Most questions relate to government support measures for businesses.

Republican enterprises also advise on the resumption of activities and compliance with sanitary standards in a pandemic. To this end, training materials on the prevention of infectious diseases have been developed.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the participants of the movement “Help is near!” for the great and very important work being done during this difficult time. “This movement has revealed all our possibilities. You have managed to cover a variety of areas: assistance to older people, legal advice, support for animal welfare organizations. A large amount of work was performed during the month of Ramadan, when those in need received iftar kits. Over 55 thousand families donated social product packages. All this would not have been possible without such active people like you,” Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized.

It is gratifying that representatives of large and small businesses, public organizations and simply indifferent Tatarstanians have joined and continue to join the movement, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan noted.

In the framework of the meeting, activists turned to Rustam Minnikhanov with a request to run for president of the republic - elections should be held in September.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked everyone for their trust and confirmed that he had decided to run for a new term. “For me, your trust is very important and valuable - the trust of people who sincerely care about Tatarstan and its inhabitants. Today the main thing is to ensure the normal life of the citizens of Tatarstan. Everyone needs help! Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the work of the republic. For me, his positive assessment of the achievements of Tatarstan and the support of my nomination for a new term are very significant. It is important for us to maintain and increase the positive transformations that are ongoing in the republic. I am ready for any challenges.
